Consular registration and appointments
Registration opens the door to every other service. It is done once, in person.
Key facts
- Only registered Moroccans can get a CNIE, a passport and most certificates from a consulate.
- You receive a consular registration certificate. Most files ask for it as proof of where you live.
- Appointments are booked on rdv.consulat.ma, where you can also attach your documents in advance.
- No appointment is needed to collect a CNIE, a passport, an adoul deed or a family booklet, or to request the transfer of a body to Morocco.
Steps
- Book a registration appointment on rdv.consulat.ma.
- Come in person with the documents below. Children come with their legal representative.
- Ask for the certificate with your current address, and ask again each time you move.
What to bring
- Passport and CNIE, originals and copies. For a child without a CNIE: the Moroccan family booklet or a birth certificate less than a year old
- Proof of legal residence: residence permit, visa, or the ID or passport of your country of residence
- Proof of address if your permit does not show it: lease, utility bill or certificate of residence
- Two colour photos, 4 × 3 cm
Watch out
- Arrive on time with your confirmation: a missed slot is cancelled.
- Mobile consulates visit cities far from a consulate. Each consulate announces its own dates, so follow its page or social media.

Since January 2024 you can book passport, CNIE, legalisation and certificate services at any Moroccan consulate, not only the one for your area. Civil status records stay with the consulate of your district. Find your consulate
