In short

  • All three operators sell eSIMs, in their agencies or online. Maroc Telecom and Orange send the QR code by e-mail after an online order.
  • A physical prepaid SIM costs little: Orange lists it at 20 dirhams with a 20 dirham balance included. Bring a valid passport or identity card, because every line must be identified.
  • For internet, add the code *3 to your recharge with any of the three operators. As a guide, 100 dirhams gives 10 GB for one month.
  • For a short stay with heavy use, inwi (300 dirhams) and Maroc Telecom (320 dirhams) sell packs with unlimited data for 14 days.
  • To keep your number for next year, recharge before its validity ends. Maroc Telecom keeps the SIM 12 months after each recharge. inwi allows incoming calls for 6 more months, then 2 months to recharge.
  • From abroad, you can top up a number of any of the three operators on Max it, Orange's international top-up site, and pay by Visa or Mastercard.
